Perl Developer

WebbyLab is a Ukrainian IT outsourcing company. We develop scalable and feature-rich Web and Mobile applications using NodeJs, React, React Native, PHP, Perl stack. We have successfully completed projects for Daimler Mercedes-Benz, Bayer, Pfizer, Uber, Ezlo, etc.

We are looking for a Perl Developer to join our fintech team. The ideal candidate should have experience working with Perl, a solid understanding of database principles, and a willingness to work with a large, evolving codebase that is actively optimized.

Our project involves high-load financial services that require stability and reliability. Key responsibilities include developing new features, optimizing existing solutions, and refactoring the system to improve performance and maintainability.

Your skill set:

• 1+ years of experience working with Perl;
• Strong knowledge of OOP, SOLID principles, and key design patterns;
• Experience working with Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS) and databases (MySQL, Percona Server/Cluster);
• Ability to write unit tests and work with testing frameworks;
• Experience refactoring code to enhance performance and scalability;
• Knowledge of web servers (nginx, Starman, PSGI, Plack);
• Understanding of OpenSSL, GnuPG and their applications in fintech;
• Familiarity with TDD (xUnit), BDD, and software refactoring best practices;
• Experience working in agile development environments (Kanban, SCRUM).

Would be a plus:

• Experience with internet acquiring and payment card issuance;
• Understanding of PCI DSS requirements and experience with compliance processes;
• Experience working with ISO8583 financial messaging standards;
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with CI/CD (GitLab CI/CD, Docker + Swarm, Ansible);
• Previous experience working in agile methodologies.
