The brief
Arena is a multi-brand retail chain that operates locations in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Lviv, selling sports and casual apparel, as well as shoes and accessories. Products manufactured by American and European brands are also available at Arena stores.
Challenge
The main objective of the project was to develop a web store within a limited timeframe and budget. It was crucial from a business standpoint to quickly establish a strong online presence, allowing our client to effectively compete in the digital marketplace.
In addition to the business constraints, we also had to address various challenges and issues of potential customers. Previously, these customers were unable to purchase sports goods online due to the absence of an existing e-commerce platform. This limitation resulted in missed sales opportunities and hindered customer engagement.
Our aim was to create a seamless and efficient online shopping experience that fulfilled both the client’s objectives and the needs of their customers.
Solution
When developing the online store, it was decided to pay extra attention to the administrative interface and order processing to streamline business operations. The task also included implementing initiatives to improve the site’s usability and make it more user-friendly
Key features
WebbyLab team implemented enhancements to the administrative interface: mass updates of characteristics and filters via an Excel file update, drag-and-drop loading and sorting of product images, and mass updates of categories
We also added the ability to specify and display various dimensional grids for the product. Besides this, we added a menu section that can be edited manually.
We integrated the site with the delivery service NovaPoshta and added the ability to generate and print consignment notes from the website’s administration panel.
To improve the usability of the site, the following tasks were implemented:
- Setting up authorization and registration via social networks;
- Setting up and optimizing data synchronization with an external database;;
- Connected mailing service;
- Creation of thematic catalog pages with the selection of products according to a specific criterion (e.g. for a specific brand, for a specific promotion);
- Redesigned order editing form;
- Setting up the rules for applying a discount coupon;
- Data feed generation for Google and Facebook marketplaces.
Results
In just 3 months, we successfully developed and launched a comprehensive online store capable of handling over 10,000 customers for day. Since its launch, the company has contributed to a 10% increase in overall sales.
