Product manager VS Project manager
Today, two completely different roles in software development are often confused. The first role is a Project Manager, whose main functions are: organizing software development processes, planning tasks for team members, motivating employees, and controlling the result. The functions of a Product Manager are somewhat different. This is a person who defines the customer’s needs and business goals that the product should achieve, formulates what is a success when launching this product. The product manager also has to convey the vision to the room to make this vision a reality. The customer does not always outsource the product management function to a service company, but this role is mandatory when developing own products or for product IT companies. If the KPI of a project manager is the effective teamwork, then for a product manager it is the profitability or efficiency of using the product directly by end users.
