Challenge

The customer had an idea for an application MVP and his aim was to test its potential to promptly assess the feasibility of the business concept.The primary objective was to launch the mobile application for both iOS and Android platforms, to evaluate the business idea.
Equally crucial was establishing an effective methodology for collaborating with a remote customer’s team, fostering seamless communication channels and transparent progress tracking. This included facilitating knowledge sharing sessions, offering comprehensive guidance, and encouraging the adoption of industry best practices for developing mobile applications using React Native technology.
Moreover, emphasis was placed on cultivating a culture of mutual respect, proactive problem-solving, and continuous improvement to ensure the successful execution of the project objectives

Solution

We provided the client with a dedicated team consisting of a front-end developer, QA engineer, and part-time project manager. Since one of the goals was to launch the application quickly, the first step was to decompose the product and establish the MVP using the product specification. Then, we focused on enhancing the product’s functionality to meet user needs. To ensure excellent communication and productivity in the distributed team, we held regular calls with customers and used Slack, Standuply, and Github to optimize workflows.

Key features

The functionality of the product allows:

  • Forming football teams and leagues;
  • Start a game with a timer, play it, create and view events like goals, and add information about the player who scored them;
  • Creating and viewing a list of scheduled football matches;
  • View the match and league archives.

Results

From a business perspective, efforts were focused on optimizing development costs while assessing the viability of a business idea. By leveraging React Native technology, we expedited the application’s market entry, achieving an impressive 80% shared code base across iOS and Android applications. This strategic choice not only minimized resource allocation but also facilitated a swift MVP launch within a mere month, enabling to promptly gauge the concept’s potential.

In addition to these achievements, the collaboration provided invaluable insights and guidance into managing remote teams effectively, nurturing a culture of seamless communication and collaboration.
Through this journey, we shared a wealth of knowledge and best practices in streamlining business processes, ensuring that each step of our work was underpinned by technical expertise and industry experience.
