QA and Dev mindsets: How different approaches to quality ensure a flawless product
QA Engineers and developers have different approaches to work, and this is important for ensuring high product quality. While the main goal of a QA Engineer is to check the product for defects and ensure its stability before release, developers focus on creating and improving functionality. These different approaches form two separate but important “mindsets.”
The QA Engineer’s mindset includes professional skepticism (professional pessimism), a critical view and attention to detail, as well as important communication skills that make it possible to clearly convey testing results and ensure proper understanding of the issue by all team members.
A developer, in turn, must be able to create solutions for complex tasks and strive to improve the product. However, even an experienced developer can become a “hostage” to confirming their own ideas by validating their decisions and failing to notice obvious mistakes.
At WebbyLab, we understand how important it is to combine these two approaches to achieve a perfect product. Only by working together can QA Engineers and developers reach the highest level of quality, anticipating potential defects and offering effective solutions at every stage of development.
